Band rooms, auditoriums, and
gymnasiums are some of the best
applications for K-13 and
SonaSpray ‘fc’. In the North Platte
High School Band Room,
SonaSpray ‘fc’ was chosen to
control reverberation because of its
superior NRC values when applied
over a ribbed metal deck.
SonaSpray ‘fc’ was applied to the roof deck at 1 inch, resulting in a NRC of .90. In the North Platte Auditorium, Black K-13 was used in conjunction with a drywall cloud system. K-13 black was also chosen to hide the ceiling and rigging work and to contrast with the ceiling panels, creating an attractive grid effect. Gymnasiums are the most typical SonaSpray ‘fc’ application for schools. The hard, acoustically reflective surfaces create very high reverberation times. Thus making speech and announcements unintelligable. SonaSpray ‘fc’ in Arctic White was applied to the roof deck to reduce the reverberation time. Arctic White was chosen for its high light reflectivity and clean appearance. Additionally, the resillient fibers of SonaSpray ‘fc’ resist impact damage. K-13 and SonaSpray ‘fc’ are also ideal for use in pool areas and classrooms. Other applications include churches, office buildings, retail stores, bars and restaurants, parking garages, and airports. |

The versatility of K-13 spray-on insulation is dramatically demonstrated in the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Both the thickness and specially matched color of K-13 were specifically chosen to meet the requirements of this project as described below.
The Shreveport Convention Center is a newly constructed, 350,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose facility located in the heart of downtown Shreveport. The venue features versatile spaces with state-of-the art lighting and sound designed to accommodate tradeshows, conventions, meetings and other special events.
