The asbestos in the Long Lines Recreation Center was completely removed and a new acoustical material was needed to control the noise levels within the center. SonaSpray “fc” was the perfect choice. SonaSpray “fc” is a spray-applied acoustical fi nish that is treated to be highly fi re resistant. It is certifi ed as a Class-1, Class-A fi re barrier per ASTM-E84 and ideal for asbestos abatement. The center also needed an acoustical product to control noise levels found within recreational settings. Children participating in various sports activities can create excessive noise that must be controlled or it simply becomes unbearable. With the 1/2” application of SonaSpray “fc”, an impressive NRC (Noise Reduction Coeffi cient) of .65 was achieved. With this reduction, the entire center becomes more enjoyable for both players and spectators.
The Long Lines Recreation Center underwent a major renovation in 2003 that included an asbestos abatement. Asbestos was used in numerous construction projects between the 1930’s and mid 1970’s. The versatility of K-13 spray-on insulation is dramatically demonstrated in the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Both the thickness and specially matched color of K-13 were specifically chosen to meet the requirements of this project as described below.
The Shreveport Convention Center is a newly constructed, 350,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose facility located in the heart of downtown Shreveport. The venue features versatile spaces with state-of-the art lighting and sound designed to accommodate tradeshows, conventions, meetings and other special events.
